FAQ

  • What is Outside School Hours Care?

Outside school hours care (OSHC) gives school-aged children access to play and leisure-based programs embedded with learning opportunities. The programs are delivered before and after school, during school holidays and on pupil-free days.

  • What is provided at OSHC?

We provide breakfast during BSC, a snack and fruit at ASC and breakfast, morning and afternoon snack and fruit at Vacation Care (more on our menu here). We provide handwashing and sunscreen stations, and a fun-filled program for all ages (more on our program here).

  • Do you share enrolment and other information with the school?

While MSS OSHC is proud of our connection with the school community, OSHC is a separate entity from Morningside State School. MSS OSHC is run by the P&C Association and works in collaboration with the school; however, due to privacy legislations we do not share enrolment, medical and other information.

  • Why do you ask for enrolment updates every year?

It is in our best practice to receive updated enrolment each year, to ensure all information is up-to-date. This can include dietary requirements, support plans, custody agreements, bank information and more. To provide the best care we can, we need to ensure we remain updated on any changes.

  • Do you take same-day enrolments?

No, MSS OSHC prides itself on ensuring we provide the best care we can, which means we take care reading through enrolments and touching base with the family prior to their commencement of care. *Compassionate circumstances can apply.

  • Do I need to book for Vacation Care?

Yes! All our vacation care bookings are casual and require you to book yourself via the parent app. We are here to help, so please get in touch if you experience any issue making your own bookings.

  • When is Vacation Care available?

We are always working hard to bring OSHC students the most fun-filled program we can, and aim to have that program available by Week 7 of the term at the latest. Our bookings will normally open between Week 7 and 8, and close the first Monday of the last week of Term.

  • Why do you have a cancellation policy?

Our program and service is run by an amazing group of educators, who receive a weekly roster in advance based bookings and availability. Our cancellation and late booking fees are there to support our team through any changes.

  • Who can collect my child/ren from OSHC?

Any person listed during enrolment as an approved collection, or who has been amended and approved by yourself. For last minute collections, we require you to message/email us the person’s full name and they will need to bring in photo ID prior to pick-up.
